I have worked in the substance use field since 2005. I am able to do full assessments, build rapport with clients, give them education about drugs/alcohol, help them to find coping skills and ways to live a sober life. I have done residential, outpatient and intensive outpatient counseling with clients both individually and in a group setting. Historically, I worked with adolescents and young adults, but I now work with adult clients. My role has shifted so that I am now doing more community education, providing information, support and referrals.
