Nicole Obando

I began my teaching journey in Brooklyn, New York as a Teach For America corps member (NYC '12). Inspired by this experience, I continued my journey in high-need public schools in Oakland, California's central valley, and Austin, TX. I’ve been with Rocketship Public Schools, a national charter network, for the last three years. I am lucky to have worked with networks that invested in my talent and development, not only as an educator, but as a leader. Through constant team collaboration, communication, and professional development, my nine years in education have helped me cultivate the skills necessary to have an impact beyond the classroom (and to be impeccably organized while doing so). In all that I do, I work to invest in childhood education through an anti-racist lens and change the historical trajectory for my children and their families.
