Nielesh Maistry

An innovative Senior Level Management Professional with two decades’ experience in Project Management and Development of multi-disciplinary mega-projects, predominantly in highway roads for Guatrans and hydropower/pumped storage plant, for Eskom Holdings. Nielesh Maistry offers the project management, engineering, project development, risk assessment and management expertise needed to deliver major infrastructure projects that meet client’s technical and quality assurance specifications. A successful career with two main employers, starting off a civil engineering career with the Department of Transport (Gautrans) where the highest positions held were design engineer and construction engineer both at deputy director level. In 2006 at the start of South Africa’s state-owned energy utility’s mega capital expansion programme Nielesh joined the utility and was appointed in the position as Project Manager of civil infrastructure and then took on the role as Senior Manager: Projects for the design, construction and commissioning of the 1332 MW Ingula Pumped Storage Scheme in South Africa. Project experience in South Africa includes the Ingula Hydropower Pumped Storage Scheme (1332 MW) and several road design and construction projects. International experience includes working for Parsons Brinkerhoff Power in the United Kingdom as a Project Engineer and involved with power plants and civil infrastructure projects. With a BSc. Civil Engineering Degree, numerous technical and management short courses, with extensive technical and management skills Nielesh uses strategic and operations intellect in his project planning and management, as well as strong technical and commercial acumen to resolve a range of complex challenges. He is highly adaptable and resilient to change within pressured environments, and manages resource gaps and scarcities with financially sound alternatives.
