Nina Barakzai

I am qualified as an accountant and as a solicitor. I have gained Fellow status of the IAPP and the Institute of Data and Marketing, am a retired Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and an accredited mediator. I currently sit on the Responsible Marketing Committee of the Data and Marketing Association and the Royal Dublin Society Board of Management. I am a member of the CIMA Eastern Region Branch Committee of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) as an FCMA and was a member of CIMA’s Research Advisory Group. I am a past Co-Chair of the ICC UK Digital Economy Committee, the Commerce & Industry Group www.cigroup.org.uk and am immediate past President and Chair of In-House Counsel Worldwide www.inhousecounselworldwide.com. I held a seat as the UK board member of IFAC's International Ethics Standards Board and the UK DCMS’ Legal Deposit Advisory Panel. I am Chair of a small community charity which supports youngsters by helping them develop team skills in boxing, table tennis, trampolining and other indoor sports www.freewebs.com/1twickenhambrunswick/, on a pro bono basis. I currently hold responsibility for Data Governance in Meta’s Office of the Data Protection Officer in Dublin, working with cross functional teams to build sustainable protection and use of personal data.
