Nina Schaff

I have graduated with an MSc in Leadership and Custodial Environments and BA (Hons) in Sociology & Spanish with TESOL. I am currently working as an Interventions Facilitator in the Programmes & Psychology department at HMP Isle of Wight.Our department focuses on resettlement work in prisons including one-to-one interviews for Programme Needs Assessments, LDC support and group facilitation with the LTHSE prison population. I am trained in delivering accredited and general programmes including Kaizen, Working Responsively with Learning Difficulties and Challenges, Motivation & Engagement and This Is Me. I joined this department as I previously worked as a prison officer in two establishments within the Youth Custody Estate and wanted to make more of a difference to the rehabilitation of those in custody.I have also previously worked as a care support worker for adults with learning disabilities, an English language teaching assistant for the British Council, a camp activity counsellor (water sports and lifeguarding) and held various volunteer roles.I am a very adaptable and ambitious person who loves to help others achieve their goals as well as developing myself personally. With my strong work ethic combined with a willingness to learn and experience new skills, which will enable me to use my acquired skills to contribute significantly to the success of a company as a whole whilst also improving myself. My professional career and life ambition are two factors that I believe are equally important, working for a successful business and a positive outlook on life!
