Noah Rulison

I love all things surrounding vocal music and communications! Currently, I work in music administration while remaining active as a freelance vocalist. I specialize in a cappella, barbershop harmony, and classical voice. I also have experience directing a variety of high school and collegiate ensembles. As a school choir director, I led the Menlo-Atherton High School choir and guitar program's return to in-person classes and performances. I also have extensive experience in musical theatre vocal directing, having taught music on shows including "Heathers: The Musical", "The Addams Family", and "Spring Awakening" I prioritize giving students a well-rounded, anti-racist curriculum of vocal music. I believe students are more motivated to pursue group singing in school and beyond when they are educated on music that reflects who they are and what they value. I consciously seek out choral works that communicate the issues and stories of historically underrepresented groups. In doing so, I hope to create a sense of community and belonging within all groups that I teach.
