Ntokozo Mbonani

I am an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa. In my current in-house role, I focus on regulatory compliance which includes assisting with overseeing the compliance programme, drafting policies, keeping track of legal developments, providing legal advice to other business units, developing operating procedures, overseeing training and communications and deriving legal insights and identifying gaps from data generated in the course of business. I was previously in practice at an international law firm for three and a half years wherein I obtained experience in the areas of regulatory compliance, corporate and commercial litigation, as well as contracting. I have done work for major institutions and high-profile clients across several industries including insurance, banking and finance, mining, and construction in South Africa, the rest of Africa, and for international institutions/clients. Whilst I have grown significantly in the past five years, I recognise that I am a young attorney and therefore look forward to deepening my experience through further training and mentorship. I am passionate about technology, its impact on business and its interplay with the law. I am also interested in people and ensuring that my colleagues are supported, particularly people with disabilities, previously disadvantaged people, and those who identify as LGBTQIA+. I am diligent, open-minded, and empathetic. I love the arts, food, fashion and politics and I always have a song to sing.
