Researcher at the Institute of Retail Economics. Ph.D. Degree in Urban and Regional Economic Development Planning from University of Cincinnati (December 2010). Primary expertise area: economic geography. Main research interest in the field of economic geography, with focus on measuring place attractiveness, the role of retailing in creating attractive places, and retail location with focus on the relationship between city centers and external shopping malls. Studies focused on the impact of large retailers on the attractiveness of Swedish regions, regional spillovers from increased trade, the impacts of environmental amenities and disamenities on property values, the city-suburb dichotomy, and economic revival proposals for small and medium-sized cities. Specialized in quantitative analysis and modeling and in particular in application of spatial econometric modeling in both spatial and non-spatial environments (SPSS, Stata, MATLAB). Also specialized in geospatial analysis and modeling (ArcGIS, GeoDa).
