Having studied Civil Engineering, I didn't envisage myself ending up operating within the Energy and Food Industries! As it is though, I've loved it and I'm fortunate enough to have made a difference within two industries that have a significant impact on all of our daily lives. My current role requires keeping one eye on the commercial aspects of Renewable Energy project development whilst the remainder of my time is taken up helping inform policy decisions on potential future developments such as Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) and Hydrogen production. As a result, problem solving is at the forefront of what I do - luckily, there's nothing that I like more than working alongside people of different backgrounds to solve these problems and find effective solutions! I get to work alongside my team with a diverse collection of stakeholders to assess, report on and implement plans to improve the current schemes under my watch, whilst consulting with industry and government on the ambition of Net Zero. I also regularly get the chance to present on and steer conversation towards relevant subject matter to a variety of groups across industry including investors, operators, government bodies and business owners, having presented previously at company events, and events such as Energy Now and Nextgen. My key areas of expertise include: - Renewable and Fossil-Fuelled Energy Generation - Government Compliance Schemes - Energy/Environmental Policies - Operation of Assets and Equipment - Near to Market Technology Research/Validation - Energy Efficiency (ESOS Lead Assessor and ISO50001 Internal Auditor) - Behavioural Change - Feasibility Studies In my spare time I enjoy running, cycling and challenging myself with sporting events, and as if problem solving at work wasn't enough I am restoring a vintage motorcycle, with a view to electrifying it once the initial restoration work is complete!
