I am an enthusiastic engineering manager with broad background in science and technology and significant experience in leading cross-functional teams to success in developing precision optical, mechanical and electronic devices. My passion is creating elegant design solutions that maximize value while avoiding waste. In my current role I am focused on the design, manufacturing and support of optical instrumentation for real-time monitoring of chemical processes. I am proud that my designs and concepts have been used to improve the quality, safety and efficiency of research and manufacturing of pharmaceuticals, fine chemicals and consumer products.I am known for my troubleshooting skills and am frequently called in for “firefighting missions”, urgent challenges that I attack with dedication and resourcefulness. Interactions with industry experts and leaders in academia have helped me gain a broad understanding of needs and challenges in chemical unit operations. I am comfortable navigating the "white space" between the different engineering disciplines, manufacturing, marketing and customers.
