Omar Najjar

Omar's career has consistently been around building, accelerating and transforming organizations. His local and global experiences in Oil&Gas, Aviation, FMCG, Manufacturing and NGOs have given him the chance to build strong rounded expertise across many disciplines, work on different challenges and touch lives of many people.Omar started his career with Aramco as a young engineer. He then joined Saudia Airlines and started his "transformation" career since then.Joining Unilever in 2001 was a turning point in his career where he had the chance to lead critical parts of the HR function for Unilever's operation in GCC, Yemen and Iran. Showing many successes within Unilever’s global platform, he was selected to be a Regional Director for Africa, Middle East and Turkey based in Unilever’s regional office at Durban, South Africa. During this period, he was extensively involved in the transformation of Unilever, re-shaping the global HR function and building its global shared services.After almost 8 years with Unilever, he was attracted by the ambitious vision of KAEC. He joined Emaar in 2008 as Business Head for the Education sector (a startup operation) where he led its strategy development, business startup and projects' execution.In 2010, he joined Cristal to lead its unique transformation journey from a local operator into a global industry leader. He led the development and deployment of Cristal's operating model that integrated all its global units into One Cristal. Cristal grown to be the 2nd largest producer of TiO2 in the world.When Tasnee, the major shareholder of Cristal, decided to transform, Omar was selected to lead the transformation project together with McKinsey & Co. In 2015, he was appointed as Executive VP for Tasnee Downstream Business.As CEO, Omar led the Saudi Ground Services, a publicly listed company serving more than 100 million passengers, 50 airlines in 27 airports with 11,000 talented staff. After building and running Misk Academy, Omar now leads the local and global programs under Misk Foundation.
