Oscar Davis

My varied experience includes over five years of working in the service industry, gaining a diverse understanding of the multi-faceted ebb and flow that is inherent to the hospitality business. During my freshman year of high school I was able to work under the esteemed Sam Choy. He taught me what it means to be a part of a professional kitchen and, most of all, the importance of accountability in the workplace. After graduating from high school, I moved to the Washington coast to work at a historic hotel in a tight-knit, maritime community. Hired as a line cook, my ability to quickly assimilate to a job and innate understanding of customer service meant that I became the point person to help resolve issues in both the front and back of house. Through this job I learned the value of working as a team, fast-paced problem solving needed to provide consistent service and quality as well as the powerful influence of maintaining a positive attitude no matter the circumstance. My desire to experience and learn as much as possible took me to Brooklyn, New York where I now reside. Moving to a big city during a global pandemic demonstrates my ability to adapt to difficult environments and is one of the many reasons I would be a valuable member of your team.
