Oskar Jansson

Recently finished my studies in chemical engineering at Åbo Akademi University and I am now working at Mirka Oy in Ostrobothnia region. Even though my degree is in chemical engineering I would say it is more closely linked to Material sciences. Both my B.Sc and M.Sc theses were more about the material and the analysis of materials. I am also working with allot of different interesting substrates (both organic and inorganic) at Mirka. As an development engineer at Mirka I work on tasks and projects related to bonded abrasives. During my studies at Åbo Akademi University I found an interest in lab-scale simulations, as I enjoyed working with the equipment and tinkering with them to achieve wanted results. In my bachelor's thesis I worked with lab-scale mechanical refining and microfibrillated cellulose and thus, got hands on experience on how materials changes and behaves from mechanical interactions. In my master's thesis I also worked with lab-scale simulation on how low-viscosity pulp could be washed in a washing simulator and the optimization of the wash. Additionally, I learned from both of my theses advanced physical and chemical analysis methods of pulp and paper. I was an active member at Kemistklubben vid Åbo Akademi rf. And functioned in various tasks as an official for three years, during these years I also managed to build a broad network with students from other faculties. My key skills include: Superabrasives, binder systems in grinding wheels, pulp and paper analysis, pulp washing, lab-scale simulations, mechanical refining.
