When I was 17, my father told me when my 18th birthday came, he was going to put me out on the street. So at 17, with the fact that I was going to be homeless within a year, I asked my parents to sign a waiver to allow me join the Army. When I turned 18, I was a soldier and hit the ground running. In 2007, I was deployed to Afghanistan with the Joint Task Force, where I managed $20 Million in equipment and 15 personnel. I was awarded the Joint Service Commendation Medal for meritorious service for my role in planning and implementing operations while in a war zone. The work ethic and grit I displayed during my service carried over to my current professional life. I’ve taken charge of corporate networks, VoIP systems and video conferencing systems while in an entry-level position. Currently, I am a network engineer / systems administrator at Security Industry Specialists INC, where I’ve designed, implemented and managed completely new office networks and systems infrastructures. My specialties include, network design, deployment, and troubleshooting, radius authentication, Site-to-Site VPN, customer service, SSL VPN, Wireless network implementation, and systems administration, Juniper SRX devices.
