Ozioma Agu

Currently an Associate in the Banking & Finance team of Aluko & Oyebode, Ozioma is an experienced professional advising an array of clients on power projects, oil and gas acquisitions, project and infrastructure financing, tax and banking regulations. Before joining Aluko & Oyebode, she was a Legal Associate at Bloomfield Law Practice, where she advised clients on oil and gas assets acquisition, project finance and ground breaking power projects. She was involved in the recovery of multi-million Naira worth of mooring charges owed to Fluid Power Marine Services Limited by a leading Nigerian bank. She also advised Middle Band Solar Limited in connection with the development of a 100MW solar power plant in Lokoja, Nigeria financed by the International Finance Corporation. Prior to this, Ozioma was a Solicitor with Detail Commercial Solicitors where she advised on equity structuring, joint venture arrangements and the fabrication and integration of an FPSO vessel. She also variously advised on establishment of free zone entities, acquisition of LPG tank farms, construction of a jetty and establishment of an SPV, tax obligations and implications.Ozioma's interest in taxation and tax structuring was piqued during a very rewarding internship experience as Graduate Tax Analyst at Ernst & Young, a position which she earned as the Winner of the 2015 West African Tax Debate organised by General Electric, KPMG, EY and PwC.Whenever she is not servicing high calibre clients, she is likely to be volunteering as a speaker at a university event, reading commercial awareness articles or binge-watching old TV shows with close friends and family.
