Paiton Bruce

As a Junior at Kansas State University, I am looking to get more involved in organizations, research opportunities and network with more people in my career path. My academic plans include majoring in Kinesiology and Psychology, with the plans to attend a graduate program in Sports Psychology or Sport Performance/Physiology. I am currently exploring my options, as I want to have backgrounds in both areas. One area I am interested in exploring is potential research opportunities that relate back to the human psyche/mental health and the impacts it may have on behavior and performance. Within this field of study I am looking to work with professional or college athletes to reach their maximum performance level by maximizing their mental health practices and overcoming personal obstacles or injuries by focusing on both the physical and mental aspects of their performance. It's important to me when working with athletes in the future to not just approach them about their mental health or physical performance, but to approach the individual as a whole human and not just an athlete.
