Patrick de Garay

My experience in the medical field began as an Army Medic where I gained classroom and clinical training in first aid, trauma care, and triage, as well as hands-on experience treating patients on assignments such as a humanitarian mission to a Guatemala. I currently work as an occupational health nurse serving corporate clients. In my roles as a project manager and sales specialist, I developed the ability to train and lead teams, provide excellent customer service, apply standard processes, plan and steward resources efficiently, and make effective use of technology. Outside of work, my passion has been to give back to the community in various ways, volunteering in local schools and at church, being a platelet donor, and participating in student government at Harrisburg Area Community College. My goal is to leverage the skills gained through my business experience, and my desire to help others, into a successful health care career. My strengths include leadership and the ability to work with all types of people. I can adapt to many different circumstances while considering the needs of everyone involved and thinking on my feet. I understand how important it is to be a good listener, so that people feel heard. When they feel that they are understood, people are more likely to open up, offer their trust, and accept guidance. I believe that’s the way to work together toward milestones and achieve the best possible results, something that’s critically important when considering a person’s health and safety.
