Patrick Makenen

Over the past six years I have been directly involved in the program management of overseas humanitarian aid projects from the initial design phase, active monitoring and final end of program evaluations. I have developed strong relationships with local NGO’s in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, China, Philippines and Indonesia as well as Government partners through a close accompaniment approach. In addition, I have in depth knowledge and experience in disability inclusive development practices, safeguarding, Disaster Risk Management, DFAT ANCP accreditation processes, program budgeting/finance, policy compliance and organisational integrity, and reporting to DFAT on heavily ANCP funded programming. Many monitoring trips in-country have brought me to very remote communities where our programs are located to assess the long-term impact of the program or support fundraising initiatives. I enjoy working in dynamic teams driven to make a difference in decreasing world wide injustice and poverty in an ethical and strategic way.
