Patrick Schuermann

Presently, I work at Siemens AG as a project procurement specialist for Siemens Real Estate. My work career has given me the opportunity to dive deep in the corporate real estate supply chain management. Due to the different and highly complex projects i could gain valuable work experience in the fields of project-, procurement- and contract management. My strengths are in particular identifying potential bidders, create necessary bidding documents, evaluating offers, successful bidding negotiations including closing a contract and support the project management. In the last years became the implementation of digitization a strong part of my work life to gain more efficiency and transparency in procurement processes. I have also had the chance to enhance my soft skills with regard to productive team work, client management, communication, as well as presentation and organizational skills. Due to my work experiences and support of several project teams I’m also very interested to work in the field of project management. Prior to working as consultant, and during my studies, I have also worked as a student employee (“Werkstudent”) for the international specialty chemicals corporation Atotech in Berlin. At Atotech, I have learned to quickly adapt to the organizational structure and processes of bigger corporations including the application of different IT-Systems such as SAP, Auto-CAD or ARIS. Moreover, my job included monitoring the maintenance and data management of plants and devices; for which, I have prepared and executed, together with my superior, tendering and contracting procedures. Most importantly as a student employee, I have also learned the importance of precise time-management in order to balance both my professional and academic schedules. Furthermore, I have had the opportunity to be a part of several job activities abroad in Australia and New Zealand where I improved my structural and analytical working methods as well as my social and language skills so that I can adapt easily to new work environments. Working abroad has also helped me improve my flexibility, hands-on mentality and capacity to adjust quickly to new situations and challenges.
