Patrick Thompson

I lead & mentor the creative team at Everi's Steady Hand Studio (including Intuicode), fostering their growth into better artists and guiding them to make the best slot games possible. As our team grows and adapts to new challenges, I help lead the way and try to keep them unblocked. I help spearhead new software and tools, documentation, cloud and web-based organizational structures, and ensure our team follows best practices. My approach to art direction is to mindfully mentor the team, giving guidance and feedback in a more easy-going manner, allowing our creatives to improve their own work in their own way - a gardener, as opposed to a mechanic. I provide inspiration and industry reference to help steer the style and quality of the art, lending my experience to help polish their work to be more successful. I led by example, bringing my trademark positivity and enthusiasm to the office, as well as painting and animating along with the rest of the team when time allows.
