About

I am a Medical Technologist and Histologist. As a Clinical Scientist I thought I was pretty smart. But then BANG I discover a Molecular Laboratory out of Atlanta that offers: QUANTITATIVE PHENOTYPING ANTIBIOTIC RESISTANCE. This is HUGE. DNA/PCR. The only Patient Specific (DNA) stool test in the United States that provides Drug Resistant information. The sensitivity/specificity is 99.9% and all markers on the panel are inclusive with one small sample from the patient. The profile covers 34 gut "health" markers, including markers for glutin sensitivity, celiac, IBD, colitis, pancreatic, fecal fat, leaky gut, all the most common pathogens: bacteria, toxins, parasites, fungus. With my background in microbiology and histology, It took me about <one minute to understand the importance of using this test. Its non-invasive: for younger and older patients, helps the GI doctors to know what to expect when getting ready for the colonoscopy. The patient is sent home with a pre-addressed Fed-Ex or USPS kit that will go to Atlanta for testing. Testing is done the same day. The report is signed out by Molecular Pathologists. This testing not only saves time making accurate diagnosis easier, it saves time in treating patients. This testing is only for Doctors: GI, Pediatrics, Family Practice, Geriatrics - that want to actually "heal" their patients. After working for the last 20 years in Histology and seeing the "gut" problems we have, I am now out here in Texas working for this awesome lab (DRG) that is doing awesome testing. And on a small stool specimen! How awesome is that? They take all insurances, don't "balance" bill the clinic or patient. I have not been this passionate about any test in a long time. I just did'nt know it was available. And I figure if I did'nt know...some of the docs don't know either! 34 gut markers...thats crazy good! So, everyday I try to find an office that wants this as a tool for his/her office. And there are a lot of SMART docs out there!
