For as far back as I can remember, I have been a tech geek. My first foray into what tech could do was at age 10, when I was given an electronics set for my birthday. I spent that holiday building radios, organs and counters and I think that’s probably when I realised that using technology to solve complex problems was where I wanted to spend my time. I am currently CEO of NML, a software development company that specialises in secure, transactional platforms for the financial services industry, which I founded in 2007. In 2016, I started Atura.ai, where we design robotic ai conversational commerce solutions for the financial services industry. I’m privileged to work with incredibly smart, award-winning designers, developers and software architects. Between NML and Atura, we’ve custom-created multi-tier fund management platforms, digital client onboarding tools, investment robo-advisors, multi-channel chatbots and AI assistants. After earning my Masters in Electro-Mechanical Engineering, I took my first job in Booz Allen Hamilton’s London offices. Booz Allen is a management consultancy that specialises in cybersecurity, analytics, digital solutions and science. In 2000, I joined IMG (sports, not models ;), and developed some of the first enterprise Content Management Systems and Online Stores. I have always been passionate about the world of sports and fitness, so building CM systems for sports events like Wimbledon and teams like Manchester United was a tech and fitness enthusiast’s dream come true. After some time spent as a software architect, I founded Silverminute, which helped customers with software development, system packaging, deployment services, technical consulting and outsourced development in and around the Microsoft .NET and SOA frameworks. We did some ground-breaking work that I am really proud of - ticketing and micro-payments for the Australian government and development of a five hundred million Australian dollar smart card platform. I sold Silverminute to the Altron Group in 2006 and after a handover period, started NML. Sport, and more specifically endurance sport, is a very important part of my life. If it’s physically strenuous and technical, I’m in. If I can do it outside and there’s shiny equipment involved, even better. I mountain bike, road bike, trail run, surf and sail. I’ve completed 7 half Iron Mans and 1 full Iron Man. In 2019 I qualified for and participated in the World Half Ironman Championships in Nice Frances. I am currently doing my pilots license and learning to wing and windsurf on a foiling board.
