At my core, I am a teacher. Having come from an educational background into the nursing profession I bring the skills I developed over the years of teaching to my nursing career. Nursing is caring for those persons in a healthcare setting, and one of its key components is education. As a full-time RN on an intermediate renal / telemetry unit patient education is at the forefront of my promoting patient wellness in a chronic illness setting. Every aspect of nursing involves educating others and oneself. From continuing education (CE) to remain current in skills and knowledge to be a preceptor for new nursing students and newly hired nurses, growing my knowledge for personal development and that of others is my passion.
