Paul Hallam

I trained as a quantity surveyor with a regional civil engineering contractor in the early 1980s before leaving to study full-time for a BSc (Hons) degree in Quantity Surveying from 1985 - 1988. After graduating I worked for a national contractor for nine months on building refurbishment schemes, before joining an engineering consultancy for just under two years. Later I moved into the railway maintenance industry initially working for British Rail and following privatisation in 1996 for Balfour Beatty and then Jarvis Rail. When the day to day track maintenance works were taken back in house I transferred across to Network Rail working initially in Peterborough before my final seven years at Lincoln. My latest role is at AECOM's Peterborough office where I am employed as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, providing cost management support on housing refurbishment works for Notting Hill Genesis in London .
