I teach at the University of Exeter at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, and I have supervised by BSc and MSc-level theses. I am a regular guest lecturer at Bangor University and I have supervised MSc project students at the Royal Veterinary College (MSc Wild Animal Biology). I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and an Associate of the Royal College of Science. I also teach at Sparsholt College Hampshire on the BSc and MSc Animal management programmes (I used to manage the BSc AM degree until the end of 2011 when I commenced my PhD). During my time as a full-time course manager and lecturer at Sparsholt College Hampshire I was also a Member of the Institute of Learning (IfL). My professional zoo involvements are with the BIAZA Research Committee and BIAZA Bird Working Group, two IUCN specialist groups, and I am a professional member of ABWAK. I am also a member of the British Society of Animal Science, a fellow of the Zoological Society of London and a member of the Association for the Study of Animal Behaviour. I am a registered scientist by the Royal Society of Biology / British Association of Animal Science, and an Associate of the Royal College of Science.
