I am a clinical virologist and researcher of the National Council of Scientific and Technological Research from Argentina (CONICET). For the last 20 years, I have worked at the Laboratory of Cellular Biology and Retroviruses at Garrahan Hospital, a referral public center for pediatrics in Argentina. I am in charge of HIV drug resistance testing, and lead major research projects aimed at understanding the interplay between viruses and their hosts. I have played a major role integrating translational research into routine healthcare of infants and children with retroviral infections, and fostering international collaborations that can have an impact on leveraging our research capacities.
