My interest lies in algorithms and probabilistic models and their applications in bioinformatics. During my PhD and postdoc , I have been involved in working on - model testing using polyDFE - inference of genotypes from time-series Pool-seq data - polyDFE: inference of the distribution of fitness effects from polymorphism and divergence data, using an extend Poisson random field - SpikeyTree: approximation of the allele frequency distribution using an extension of the beta distribution and inferences based on this approximation - diCal-IBD: inferring pairwise IBD in sequence data, - using coalescence hidden Markov models for inferring population parameters, - Regmex: motif discovery in ranked lists of sequences, - patterns in the sequence of hidden states of a hidden Markov model, - computation and use of sufficient statistics for continuous time Markov Chains, - stochastic context free grammars for RNA secondary structure prediction.
