I play with circuits since I was 4 and program since I was 11. All my work is based on the idea that engineering is a general solving algorithm for any sort of problem. In Glasgow, during a Hackathon, our group ran out of processing power to run our Traveling Salesman Problem algorithm. We decided to use an Amazon EC2 solution. Since the shared Internet connection was too slow, I flew my AR.Drone (linux machine with router) on the gap between the Engineering building and library and using Node.js I programmed the drone's computer to repeat the signal from the library generating a new network. Finally, the Library's Internet was still too slow to send data to the clusters running MATLAB, but we made our point with the drone. When one of the professors decided to check the drone's network on his phone, the signal just disappeared: the Node.js code had a function to turn off the drone's engines in case any MAC address other than mine tried to connect. We got 2nd even with a not working algorithm.
