Peter Cocks was educated at Gravesend Grammar School and the UEA where he gained a degree in History of Art. He also studied American Literature under Malcolm Bradbury.He worked in interior design in London, New York and Tokyo. He worked as buyer for seminal design companies Strangeways and Practical Styling in London, Detail in New York. He helped set up Hothouse in New York, gallery Annexe in Covent Garden, London, and then became brand manager for Timney-Fowler in the UK and Japan.In 1992 he became buyer for interior designer Christopher Nevile at The Study in Covent Garden. In the late 1990’s he moved into television, writing, producing and performing over fifteen years as a character actor. He had several shows commissioned with co-writer Mark Billingham.Peter has also written several novels: his trilogy, Triskellion, a supernatural thriller for children, written with Mark Billingham.His first YA thriller, Long Reach was published in 2011, followed by Body Blow in 2012, the second in the series. Shadow Box, was published in 2016. Peter wrote “Sue Timney: Making Marks” published by Pointed Leaf Press in New York 2012.Peter has also modelled for Hermes, He runs cabaret club The Private Widdle Social Club at The Astor Theatre in Deal, featuring names such as Paul Foot, Lenny Beige , Henning Wehn and Adam Ant.Since 2016, Peter created his brand Cockles and Cockles & Co with partner Gavin Oakley, to provide food, drink, art and entertainment in areas of regeneration such as Folkestone Harbour Arm and Dover Marine Station, working alongside Kent's Curious Brewery, curating art shows within Folkestone's Creative Quarter.In 2017 Peter, Gavin Oakley (White Cliffs Hotel Group) and John Orchard (Marchday, Festival of Thrift) combined their skills as Albion Inc.They are currently working with The Land Trust and Pioneering Places East Kent on the regeneration and repurposing of Fort Burgoyne in Dover. http://albionincorporated.com/
