In March 2017, after 20 years at D C Ross, I made the difficult decision to leave. This was not an easy decision, especially having to leave a great group of people who I had the pleasure of working with over these years.In September 2016 the majority shareholder of the company placed the company in receivership. For 6 months I worked with the receivers to ensure the company continued on to allow a potential buyer to be found, but this become more difficult as time passed. The most important lesson I learned from the receivership process was 'not how to treat people/employees, a companies most valuable asset. Communication is paramount during these uncertain times, but was sadly lacking from the receivers and ownership of the company.In March 2017 I was fortunate to be offered an exciting opportunity to join the management team at Kaans Catering Supplies. A family owned Wholesale Food & Distribution company based in Dunedin. I have always had a passion for food, so the opportunity at Kaans, lead by a charismatic entrepreneur, and about to enter a strong growth phase presented a great opportunity for me .I joined D C Ross as Financial Controller 15 years ago after leaving my previous role as a business consultant for Deloitte where I worked with a range of clients in the health, electricity and manufacturing industries. Recently I stepped into the CEO role where I am continually looking for opportunities to grow this innovative company. We have a very talented team here at D C Ross that produce precision tooling and componentry from world-class fine blanking techniques to the highest quality standards.
