Peter Schumacher

In his current role as a Partner at AE Industrial Partners, Peter is responsible for deal origination and acquisition execution of aerospace assets for AEI's private equity funds. Additionally, he will be responsible for monitoring and organic growth generation for all AEI portfolio investments, as well as execution of disposals as required. Prior to AEI, Peter was a Director of Business Development at GE Aviation, leading all BD activities for GE's Engine Services business. Within that role, Peter has worked deals ranging from several hundred million-dollar dispositions, to multi-billion dollar acquisitions, and was responsible for identifying and executing joint ventures, including participation in partner negotiations, development of the JV financial business plan, and execution of legal agreements. Prior to his BD role, Peter established himself as a strong commercial leader at GE, first as a member of the Services Engineering team where he was responsible for driving margin improvements in GE Aviation’s service agreements. Following that, he completed the GE Experienced Commercial Leadership Program (ECLP), a 2-year rotational program through the commercial side of the GE Aviation business, consisting of assignments in Sales, International Project Management, and Customer Support. Prior to his commercial experience, Peter developed a solid technical background in GE aero engines as the mechanical engineer responsible for design of the composite fan blade on the GEnx-1B engine. Prior to GE, Peter was a mechanical engineer at Orbital Sciences Corporation, where he was responsible for design and assembly of the Navy's GQM-163A ramjet anti-ship ballistic missile drone. Peter holds an MBA from The Ohio State University and a B.S. In Aerospace Engineering from Arizona State University.
