Peter Wood

I have 25 years of experience in software architecture and development; I am passionate about extending and sharing my knowledge and leading technical teams and I also have strong computer security, systems integration and optimisation training and experience. Most of my career has been spent in the finance sector, and asset management in particular, which built on the knowledge I gained doing a commerce degree. Specialties: My main technical experience is in .NET and SQL (MSSQL and Postgresql) architecture, design and development, system integration and system optimisation. I am currently building REST and Async APIs in Go on Ubuntu, to run on our Kubernetes cluster, using RabbitMQ for the decoupled/async systems integration. This development is focused on replacing Allan Gray's client communication management system. In my "spare time" I am enjoying integrating Java (Dropwizard) REST APIs with temperature monitoring software I am running on Raspberry Pi's, and I am working to put a ReactJS user interface on that API layer. I have deployed this system on AWS and am experimenting with integration to small business accounting systems. This has been a great way to introduce myself to new technologies and challenges.
