Philip Basche

Previously an Adviser, Director, shareholder, and Board member of Much Pty Ltd, a Financial Advisory business I had been associated with for thirty five years. Since my retirement I have spent several years involved in the promotion and marketing of Lifeline’s Corporate training programmes. I am a volunteer telephone crisis supporter with Lifeline. I also volunteer as a mentor with Mentoring Men. I have assisted with the establishment of an organisation called Fearless Women which provides mentoring counselling and education for young women. Fearless Women is operated in conjunction with Menslink which provides the same services for young men. I have previously had two years on the Board of the Financial Planning Association, some ten years on the Board of Galilee, a Canberra based NFP that provided services for disadvantaged children and was a member of that Board when Galilee was merged with Communities@Work one of Canberra's largest Community organisations. I remained on that Board for two years. I am a Paul Harris Fellow with Rotary International. The combination of owning a business that provided financial advice on a fee basis for the benefit of the client, assisting with providing training to the Community that has the ability to save lives, and now engaged with crisis support through Lifeline and Mentoring Men seems to be worthwhile pursuits and a fulfilling way to give back to the Community having been fortunate to have a very privileged life. I reside permanently in Mosman, Sydney.
