Key Skills • Degree in BSc (Hons) Chemistry at the University of York. • 3 years leadership experience through being part of a power station management team. • Experience of managing environmental legislation with respect to the power industry such as EPR, LCPD, IED, EU-ETS • 13 years’ experience of working within the power generating industry split between biomass combustion plant and combined cycle gas turbines (CCGT) • Experience of working on power stations in 5 different fields, often simultaneously (Chemistry - 10 years, Environment – 6 1/2 years, Performance Monitoring – 2 1/2 years, Commercial Analysis 2 years, Operations - 1 year) • Experience of setting up and managing contracts and contractors. • Experience of managing engineers and senior managers to deliver projects in demanding timescales to meet stakeholder demands • Strong ability to communicate complex issues with people at an operational, professional and senior management level. • Strong understanding of the commercial environment within the power industry. • Experience of the challenges faced by large projects during construction. • A strong knowledge of collecting, analysing and trending large data sets in order to make decisions and implement necessary actions. • Experience in managing internal and external stakeholders expectations in order to ensure effective delivery. • Knowledge of setting up management systems to deal with all areas of power station chemistry and environmental issues. • A strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software, especially word and excel. • A strong desire to work with array of people and cultures meaning a willingness to travel. • A love for learning new skills and problem solving. • Strong report writing skills acquired through both work and education. • Completed training in EHS areas such as IOSH Managing Safety and IEMA Certificate of Environmental Management,
