Phuc Nguyen

I joined Mori Hamada & Matsumoto as an MHM Vietnam Partner on February 1, 2022. In 1997, I started my career and worked as an auditor at Ernst & Young for nearly three years. Later, I switched my career path and practiced law at Lucy Wayne & Associates (a British law firm) and Allens (an Australian law firm) for eight years. In 2007, I established my own practice, Garnet Law, which operated as a boutique law practice, focusing primarily on providing legal services to foreign companies, foreign investment funds, and foreign-invested companies doing business in Vietnam. In 2017, I joined ZICO Law as a Partner based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and worked there until January 31, 2022. With almost 25 continuous years of working experience, I have practiced the vast majority of aspects of Vietnamese law. In doing so, I have focused extensively on high-value and large-scale transactions in the areas of Real Estate, Banking & Finance, Energy, Mergers and Acquisitions, and other Regulatory/Regulated Transactions. In particular, my invaluable experience of working as an auditor at Ernst & Young and running Garnet Law, my own law practice, has enabled me to understand the clients’ business activities thoroughly. Also, this experience has allowed me to apply a broad perspective and have a business and result-oriented mindset. I take ownership of the clients’ issues, and I build trusting relationships by providing proactive and “deal-driven” solutions to my clients.
