Pierre Gauthier

Pierre Gauthier is a proven technology leader with over 30 years of experience. He is currently the TM Forum Chief API Architect and leads the TM Forum API Architecture Team. In that capacity, he is responsible for the technical direction, design, architecture, and implementation of APIs for all TM Forum initiatives including: digital platforms and ecosystems, SmartCity, Hybrid Network Platform (NFV), digital banking, and the IoT. Pierre is also acting as the TM Forum SmartCity Digital Platform Architect. Pierre Gauthier is the founder and CEO of the internationally-recognized consulting company OSSWAVE. Through his company, he has helped organizations world-wide in the design and implementation of digital ecosystems, platforms, and APIs. He has received many outstanding leadership and technical awards both from the Java Community and the TM Forum including the coveted designation of “Subject Matter Expert” from the TM Forum in 2008. Pierre is a committed educator in the area of digital-asset management. He has conducted studies, workshops and training for a number of telecommunications companies including Tata Communications, SaskTel, Vodafone, TBayTel, Rogers Communications, and Shaw Communications. He has also presented at many international events including: Mobile World Congress, TM Forum Live, Eclipse IoT Summit, I Love APIs, and Interzone API in Vancouver. Pierre is a respected author regarding digital-asset management: he co-authored “OSS Design Patterns—a Pattern Approach to the Design of Telecommunications Management”. Pierre holds a master’s degree from the Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal in Adaptive Control and and, prior to founding OSSWAVE, had a distinguished career with Nortel Networks and Bell Northern Research. Pierre has extensive experience in modern software techniques including REST APIs, Java, and Node.js. Pierre is a Java Fellow.
