I aspire to be a generalist in an era of specialists - and yes, I think it is a "good thing", as too many people in business lack any kind of overall vision of their environment, and by consequence miss an enormous number of both risks and opportunities. I graduated in business and finance, with particular concentration on startups and their evolution, financial and otherwise, but I always strived to expand my study curriculum as wide as the institutions allowed. Fittingly, I have gained experience in numerous fields and positions, from financial analysis to international trade, from private equity to naval supplies, from med-tech to strategic and risk consulting, with the common thread always being that of having an entrepreneurial approach and attitude. I have been called a "hunter gatherer" and a "grand strategist", which I think translates into being a problem-solver: people call me in when others have failed or don't know what to do, and usually I find a way. Problem solved. Sometimes I fall in love with a technology and/or a business model and then I try to make something out of that - which is what I am doing now with Belenos, which I think can genuinely help Mankind with its approach, but I'm always open to consider partnerships, gigs or calls for help. That's what venture captains are, after all. Besides all this I am bilingual italian-english, and an anglophile the way some Italians tend to be. Quite the amateur linguist (fluent french; then russian, german, spanish in decreasing order of skill). Also, a decent military history buff, a nerd from before it was fashionable, a decent cook (ask me about my lasagna). Decent skills in event management, too, as a consequence of my volunteer work.
