Priscilla Edwards

I am an artist, author and educator in contemporary textiles working from my studio in the Northwest of England. I've been working in the creative industries as artist since 1997 making textile art for exhibiting, designing freelance and working to commission. I have Lectured at The University of Salford, University Centre at Blackburn College and The University of Cumbria and I currently work for Open College of the Arts at the University for the Creative Arts as a Lecturer, Assessor and Moderator on Foundations Textiles and the BA Textile Programme. I also deliver workshops/courses teaching across the UK and beyond for independent collectives, primary/secondary schools and FE/HE Institutions. I regularly work with Kendal Windows on Art as a visiting artist running workshops/projects in schools and I am a member of Widening Horizons Collective. We are a group of artists that provide creative education workshops for primary and secondary schools children and staff development for teachers. I also tutor at the Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal delivering mixed media textile courses. In 2017 I Co Founded 'Decorum Textile Artists', we are all exhibiting artists and graduates from Textiles & Embroidery at Manchester Metropolitan University. Our focus is to exhibit contemporary textiles and deliver experimental workshops that engage with the community.
