As a Registered Nurse managing a Home Health Agency Branch office, the shortage in health care providers created an opportunity for myself and a partner to start our campus in 1991. I have provided leadership through initial start up, regulatory approvals, securing Accreditation, obtaining Title IV funding, and transition from private ownership to corporate model in 2002 joining Concorde Career Colleges. February 2013, joined Education Futures Group as a Regional VP of Operations for Vista Colleges. The past 22 years have been spent in operations in the career school sector and developing strong relationships with employers, civic leaders and within our community.I've had the privileged to speaking professionally on the topics of A Positive Campus Culture and Administration of a Nursing Program, conducted for APSCU National Conference, APSCU Leadership Institute, CCST Annual Conference and privately for career school organizations.Long before I gained this wealth of experience, I made a promise to my grandmother that when she was no longer able to live in her own home, I would find another "at home" solution. This conceived the idea and creation of an assisted living home in a residential neighborhood without the clinical atmosphere of a larger commercial nursing home. I have worked with nearly every Nursing Home in the DFW Metroplex and there are some fabulous facilities, staffed by amazing people who run them. My Grandma though, remembered that promise. So, in 2016 my husband Jeff and I started Lighthouse of Care from our own home and never looked back.
