I am involved in advising and litigating for companies that are involved in technology and innovation. My emphasis is on assisting parties in the (inter)national games industry. For example, I advise on contracts between developers and publishers, licenses, merchandising and other forms of collaboration. But also when it comes to protecting the rights to your game or complying with laws and regulations. I am also specialized in employment law. Because it is often important for my clients to protect know-how, I regularly advise and litigate about non-competition and relationship clauses. I also have a special interest in questions about the legal status of the foreign employee, the statutory director and the employment law consequences of company takeovers. I regularly publish on these subjects in law journals. I have been passionate about games since the SNES era. The ability to interact in a fictional world is the ideal form of relaxation for me. With a lot of energy, I can talk about the possibilities I see for serious games as a solution to certain social problems. Therefore I am regularly asked to give my views on (legal) themes in the games industry.
