Richard Konzem

During a thirty year career in intercollegiate athletics, Konzem held a series of progressively responsible administrative positions culminating in the position of Director of Athletics. Responsibilities included overseeing the operation of a 150-member staff and a $26 million budget; directing the goals, policies and programs of an athletics department; annual fund-raising, membership and ticket sales drives; serving as a spokesperson for the organization; working with the Board of Directors; assisting the Board in providing leadership in the University Community, the State and nationally in intercollegiate athletics. Commitment to a balance of academic and athletic success for student-athletes, NCAA rules compliance, organization, planning, attention to detail and a strong work ethic are defining characteristics. As a fund-raiser and administrator for a high-profile national athletics program, Konzem developed strong interpersonal skills dealing with diverse constituencies.
