Rick Vogel, ICD.D

Rick is the Founding Principal of The Vogel Group, a specialized boutique search firm in Edmonton. He is responsible for the day-to-day operations, leading search assignments, client development and management for the office. Rick holds a bachelors degree from the University of Alberta. Prior to joining the search industry, he spent 20 years in the financial services industry in both Canada and the United States. While in the U.S., Rick owned and operated, as President and Chief Executive Officer, a financial advisory company in South Florida. His experience in the areas of executive management and leadership, financial services, operational change management, marketing and staff management provides significant value and expertise to his role in executive recruitment. Most recently, Rick was a Principal and Co-Owner of a national retained executive search firm. Rick has led numerous senior leadership searches in municipal government, not-for-profit, construction, healthcare, manufacturing, advanced technology, real estate and finance. He has the ability to assess and evaluate the candidate’s personality, potential and pedigree resulting in the right fit for the organization. Rick’s active community involvement has included the University of Alberta Hospital Foundation (Board of Trustees), the Centre Club (Board of Governors), Alberta Triathlon Association (Vice President), the Minerva Foundation (Executive Board Member), the Thunderbird Athletic Basketball Association (Treasurer), Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation. He is currently a Director of Do North Events. He has acquired the ICD.D designation and is an active member of the Institute of Corporate Directors of Canada. Rick has represented Canada in two sports (track & field and triathlon) and continues to be active in cycling, swimming, running and triathlon.
