Rina Shumylo

I’m an Interaction Designer and Art Director with 7 years of experience in a creative field. I love designing experiences at the intersection of digital, physical, design and technology to make this world a nicer and cooler place to live in. I believe in beauty as a function, technology as a craft and complex systems driven by simple principles. In 2012, I co-launched an illustration studio, ILL&MATES, which developed into a successful image production studio of talented people, garnering a reputation for high-quality boutique work in Kyiv, Ukraine. I have worked with projects for BBDO, Y&R, Pepsi, Esquire, Carlsberg and Viasat. As an entrepreneur in the creative industry, I also started Graphite – an educational platform for illustrators to connect with others in the creative community, stay up to date with industry standards, and share personal experiences with each other. I also launched a passion project – kicking off The Cinema Poster Awards which has become an annual poster competition for illustrators and designers. In the inaugural year, I founded the event, forged partnerships for sponsors and spearheaded the logistical implementation of the awards.
