Rob Barrick

Rob is an environmental chemist specializing in the source, transport, chemical fate, and biological effects of organic and inorganic toxic chemicals. His 37 years of experience includes providing expert consulting and testimony in the areas of environmental chemical forensics, including source fingerprinting, transport, and weathering of PCBs, PAH and other hydrocarbons, chlorinated dioxins/furans (PCDD/F) and solvents, and other complex chemical mixtures; cost allocation in alternative dispute resolutions involving both organic compounds and metals; contribution actions; NRDA suits; toxic tort; and regulatory compliance for aquatic discharges. His forensics experience includes analyses of contaminant sources and release periods; assessment of the potential for chemical releases, offsite transport and resulting exposures at manufacturing facilities; and distinguishing between probable offsite sources and different onsite chemical sources of groundwater contamination. Rob has also evaluated the influence of best management practices and historical releases of solvents and wastes on soil, groundwater, and adjacent waterbody contamination, as well as alternative measures to control groundwater and seeps contamination.
