Training and Curriculum Development Specialist with School Specialty. My responsibility is essentially to be the communicator for the Customer Care department. I am responsible for training and communication to over 200 department advocates across two locations—Appleton, WI and Mansfield, OH. This includes production of two monthly newsletters, creation and content maintenance of our department web site, large and small group training sessions for seasonal and full-time advocates and daily department-wide email communication addressing policies, procedures, updates, changes and other items that require communication. My goal is to always make it fun, as well as informative, as people retain and learn best when they are enjoying the experience. Additionally, I have held a successful freelance writing career since 1994. I currently manage several ongoing projects, demonstrating my skill at working in a fast-paced environment, working independently and meeting multiple deadlines. Current writing projects include a weekly/bi-weekly nature and outdoors column for the Post-Crescent Sports section, as well as a monthly gardening column for Nature’s Pathways magazine. In addition, I am also involved in an ongoing project with the Horicon Reporter, creating a series of 20-30 articles for the Horicon Visitor, a visitor’s guide and informational publication for visitors to Horicon National Wildlife Refuge.
