Robbie Whateley

I'm 19 and currently doing higher education. I am very happy to say that I've been accepted to do Cyber Security and Forensic Computing at the London Metropolitan University. This will be my last year of education, and will get me my degree, hoping for a First!I've been really into cyber security since the second year of college, and I'm really looking forward to starting full time learning in the area. I'm excited to try the tools, learn the methods, and get more insight into what my future career will really hold.My plans for after Uni are to get an entry level job in cyber security, hopefully as a Penetration tester/red team member, for maybe 3-7 years, and then my dream is to go into a government position like GCHQ or NSCS protecting the country from cyber threats rather than a single company, something that is really important, I think I’d do really well in that environment, and doing something that is really meaningful is really important to me. At some point I’d get my masters as well, and maybe a PhD. I’m not sure what specialist field I would do this in, but it would be in the realm of cyber security of course.I pride myself in being proactive with social injustices, and support many different movements and protests. I really want to make a difference to the world I live in, so I try to prioritize ethical practices, like being environmentally friendly. I consider politics and hobby, and love debating when it’s beneficial.In my free time, I enjoy 3D printing and modelling, Arduino projects, motorcycle riding, playing games, airsoft and generally tinkering with things. I find all of it fascinating, which is why I spend my time doing tedious and long projects that are so gratifying to finish.
