Robbyn Lewis

Robbyn Lewis is a dynamic public health professional, transit advocate, award-winning community leader and sustainability game-changer. She dedicated over 20 years to clinical research, public health research, global health program management, business development, and community engagement for health initiatives in Asia, Africa and the Caribbean. At the same time, she “greened” her Baltimore neighborhood with large-scale tree plantings and energy conservation initiatives, mobilized broad grassroots support for new transit investment. Most recently, she launched the Livable Streets Coalition in east Baltimore to improve pedestrian safety and reverse the harms of historic red-lining. She was Special Assistant at the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange, the state agency responsible for implementing Obamacare (Affordable Care Act) and now serves as a Delegate in Maryland's part-time state legislature. Robbyn served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Niger, and studied Mandarin Chinese in Taiwan. She is fluent in French, and holds a Master of Public Health degree from Columbia University.
