Robert Makoye

Robert G. Makoye is a seasoned engineer with extensive background in telecommunications, Off-grid electrification/automation and software engineering for over 9 years. A well-rounded engineer and co-founder of Nexis Africa Limited , he serves as the company’s Chief Executive Officer. With several successful tech projects under his belt, he brings world class expertise to Nexis. He began his programming ​ career while pursuing a degree in Telecommunications Engineering in China and became a .NET certified software engineer. After graduating college, he joined University of Dar es salaam Computing Centre Software Engineering Dept. Known for his ability to transform complex ​software requirements into simple and elegant solutions, Robert worked as one of the key developers for Tanzania Health Facility Registry. He later moved to a tech startup AIM GROUP​ where he created Mkito music platform​ and then to Devergy​, a solar smart-grids company where he was responsible for systems development and became a consultant to his last employer before deciding to strike on his own. Robert’s interests include IoT, Business Intelligence, Mobile applications development, Machine Learning and Cloud Computing. As a proud member of Vijana Think Tank, his ambition is to foster relationships with the intellectual elites of Tanzania for the purpose of co-creating a better tomorrow.
