My professional experience has been in the Gaming Industry since 1980. I began as a dealer at the Dunes Hotel and Casino. I worked at many casinos and poker tournaments in various positions including the World Series of Poker in 1981, 1982, 1985, 1990, 1991, 1999-2001 and 2007. My family, father-Bob Thompson, sister-Cathi Wood and I coordinated and directed the 1991-2001 World Series of Poker. I was the Tournament Director at Hollywood Park Casino from 1997-2004. I supervised a staff of 10-15 employees on a regular basis. That number increased to 75-100 employees when we held major poker tournaments. I was responsible for tournament profit and loss statements as well creating tournament budgets for each individual tournament series. My signature tournament was the Poker Derby. I created the models for the charity events that were held at the casino. I started my company Royal Flush Enterprises in 2004. At that time I was hosting events for celebrities in Los Angeles and one particular event asked me to provide all the poker equipment and staff needed for the event. I decided to take a risk and buy my own equipment. I learned a lot from that event. I started building my company from that point. In 2011, Royal Flush Enterprises changed to CheckRaise Gaming & Events, which is a Gaming Events Company. We provide services for all types of poker and gaming events including charity, corporate, private, major poker tournaments and cruises. To date, we have coordinated, directed and facilitated services for three Ladbrokespoker.com cruises. The most recent cruise was in 2011. My goals are to continue building my company, to offer an excellent product for an affordable price, increase sales and continue to be one of the top companies in my business!
