Robert Van Buren

Robert W. Van Buren III is a leadership-driven professional looking to take his education and experience to the homeland security or emergency management sector. Currently, Robert is in his final semester as an Undergraduate at Indiana State University, majoring in Intelligence Analysis with a concentration in counterintelligence and a Minor in Forensic Investigation. Robert also recently completed all requirements for his Associate of Applied Science degree in Education and Training Management via the Community College of the Air Force. Robert has spent nearly fourteen years as a law enforcement officer and currently supervises other law enforcement officers, correctional officers, and emergency dispatchers in his current position as a Duty Sergeant. Furthermore, Robert has spent his law enforcement career as an education and training specialist, having attended many specialty instructor schools, earning him the rare title of Senior Instructor through the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy and Indiana Law Enforcement Training Board. This has enabled Robert to serve as the Training Coordinator for his agency, which has accompanied Craftsman experience in the United States Air Force as a Training and Education Manager. Additionally, Robert has spent over fifteen in the Indiana National Guard in both the Army and Air Force Components. Robert recently accepted a commission in the Indiana Air National Guard ad a Security Forces Officer. Previously, Robert was a First Sergeant, for the only Air Force Special Warfare squadron in the Indiana Air National Guard. Robert’s leadership experience and ability to network and work in small teams to larger, theater-level groups shows in everything he does. Robert has deployed, as a First Sergeant, in support of Operations Inherent Resolve and Spartan Shield and served in senior leader roles with over 300 people under his area of responsibility.
